Daniel A'Vard is an artist based in Porepunkah, North-East Victoria, on the unceded lands of the Waywurru and Taungurung peoples. He has recently completed a Master of Fine Arts at RMIT.
Daniel creates luminous, abstracted landscapes using digital imaging which are presented in lightboxes or as backlit fabric prints. In his process, Daniel melds contemporary, digital techniques with ancient rhythms of meditation and contemplation to explore the existence of dimensions that are beyond human conceptions of space and time and create an invitation to these ‘other places’.
His practice builds on a belief that by ‘looking’ beyond ourselves into such a mystical place, we can see a deeper reflection of our own hearts and our own wonder.
